About Stapelia Leendertziae

Stapelia Leendertziae, commonly known as Black Bells or Star Flower. It is an attractive succulent that may repeat bloom throughout the right season. The green stem has small tubercles and short, pubescent, purple tips. The shape of the succulent is quadrangular, up to 8 inches long and 1 inch thick. The charming purple flower often appears in late summer.

How to care for Stapelia Leendertziae

Sun/Location: The type of succulent is easy to grow; it originates under shrubs and prefers light shade rather than full sun. Grow this succulent plant outdoors in summer and spring with partial shade, but bring it in during the fall and winter to protect it from frost.

Soil/Pot: Well-drained cactus soil is essential for the succulent species; adding sand, perlite, and grit to the soil can promote drainage and prevent succulents from rotting or some fungal diseases in plants. Clay planter pots with drainage holes are advisable for succulents.

Watering: Watering is challenging for some newbies; the Stapelia Leendertziae requires careful watering in growing seasons and complete water withdrawal during the dormant season, such as in winter.
